Originally from rural New-Brunswick, Annik Gaudet (b.1986, NB, Canada) is an interdisciplinary artist based in Halifax, NS. She has travelled extensively throughout North America, finding herself drawn to isolated areas and remote wilderness. She has been a tree-planter, nomad and homesteader. Her artwork attempts to reflect on these terrestrial explorations, contextualizing them in relation to human disruptions, within stories and folklore, and through evocative imagery. Her art practice uses various forms of documentation to produce videos, installations, drawings and performances. She has exhibited her work in Canada and internationally and holds a BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design.
