VIDEO PERFORMANCE

Sea Grass

Sea Grass is an experimental video engaging with the landscape of Kanaka Bay on Saysutshun Island, BC through a found washed-up section of astroturf. As the tide slowly rises, the video documents my attempt to carefully incorporate this piece of artificial grass into the landscape by “planting” it. I meticulously place handfuls of sand around the fabric edges protruding from the astroturf and gently pat and smooth the sand until the object has been fully incorporated into the beach. This small green rectangle of faux-nature pasted into the landscape resembles a doormat leading into the ocean.

Red Carpet

A video performance created during a two week residency at Full Tilt Creative Centre in McIvers, NL., playfully engaging with the vast and beautiful landscape of the area using a found red carpet.

Red Sky At Night

Fish Net

An experimental video inspired by the sailor lore: Red sky at night, sailors delight. Red sky in morning, sailors take warning.
Three Labrador fishermen set out to sea to check their nets.

A Fool's Errand (excerpts)

Library Cards (excerpts)

"A Fool's Errand" is a video documentation of two travellers hitchhiking accross the Gaspe peninsula in Quebec. The work focuses on the hitchhikers' place on the roadside and their relationship with public outdoor space. This short-film was made with the help of Faucet Media Arts Centre and Strut Gallery's Summer Production Honorarium.
A series of interviews with people looking at their signatures on old library cards from twenty to forty years ago.
